#YogaRevolution: Week Two

Dudes. I'm not gonna lie to you, going into this week I was sore and tired. My weekend didn't go quite as planned and by Sunday night I was feeling pretty bratty about it. And that's where we're are at the beginning of Week Two. :)

Day Eight: SERENITY is right! I definitely shed a few tears during today's practice. Though by giving myself permission to let those feelings go I left my mat feeling much lighter than when I sat down. I'd been looking for an excuse to break out my new bottle of Peace & Calming and today was the perfect opportunity! Thank you Universe!

Day Nine: There was a lot of talk during Week One about finding your own pace, listening to your body and not powering through poses, but I didn't realize how much that was speaking to me until today's EMPOWER practice.  When I saw the email this morning I was less than thrilled about a fiery flow practice. Though after listening to the introduction and actually listening to my body throughout I feel wonderful.  Yes the squats were tough, but moving slowly in and out of them lessened the impact on my lower back and gave me some great energy to take with me throughout my day! 👊

Day Ten: Today's THOUGHTFULNESS practice was SO what I needed. I woke up last night at 3:45 and never really got back to sleep.  But starting my long day meditating on the purposefulness of thoughts, and therefore actions, help set me up for success.  Here's hoping I can hold on to this as I move through my day!

Day Eleven: It was so nice this morning I went for a run instead of doing my practice and it was 9:00PM before I got home from my day! Agh! I was looking forward to it all day, but I was a bit worried I'd get through it and be too keyed up to go to bed. Well lucky for me today's ALIGN practice was just the thing I needed. I put on some comfy clothes, diffused some Lavender and Stress Away and went right to bed after. :)

Day Twelve: I have been up to my eyeballs with stress at work this week and not handling it very well.  Thinking about today's practice as a way to SYNC up with the now was a total game changer for me. I'm a happier and more productive person when I'm focusing on the task or moment at hand instead of 5 miles down the road. Thanks for the reminder Adriene and the wonderful practice!

Day Thirteen: In the moment I did not find this practice particularly challenging. Now I'm sitting at my desk this afternoon and my arms and shoulders are on FIRE! I am grateful for the reminder of this morning's OPENING practice, and for PanAway helping ease my sore muscles and getting me back to work.

Day Fourteen: "FORGIVENESS, can you imagine!" What a great thought for a Saturday morning! My legs were sore after the last few days so that extended time in Pyramid pose felt extra yummy. I don't always have time to linger on weekday mornings, so I took a few minutes with my Breathe app to meditate after the video was over and now I feel ready for my day!

Ok, who loved this week? In general I was pretty cranky and stressed out, but having this routine and practice to come back to is what kept me sane.  Here's to taking that sanity into next week and peppering with Joy! Who's with me?! - xo Sydney

P.S. I know I spoke a lot this week about my use of Essential Oils during my practice.  For me they go hand in hand.  I have been using EO for more of my life at this point than not and I just can't imagine my life without them.  If you ever have any questions I am always happy to share!
